The Charter Schools Educational Trust

Transforming lives through the power of inclusive education

Trust Governance

Governance at The Charter Schools Educational Trust

As an educational trust, our goals are to be a beacon of exceptional practice for inclusive education within and beyond our local communities; to serve pupils in our communities in Southeast London throughout their school careers, and to have the capacity and expertise to grow and sustain our family of schools.

Good governance is crucial in the leadership and management of our Trust and its schools, and is key to driving up school and pupil performance.  The Trust Board is responsible for setting the overall vision and values for the Trust, and agreeing the trust-wide key strategic priorities and direction for its schools. Trustees make sure that the trust is compliant with its charitable objectives, and also with company and charity law.

The Trust board is supported by the work of Local Governing Boards (LGB) in each school.

Our Members, Trustees and Governors share the firm belief that all young people have the potential to achieve in school and succeed in life.  Each of our schools reflect the Trust’s commitment to non-selective, co-educational learning, serving the diverse local communities in which they are based.
