Wendy Andrews - Director of HR and Change Management
Wendy has been with The Charter Schools Educational Trust as HR Director since 2014 when she started at The Charter School North Dulwich. She previously worked in Corporate Banking for Nat West for 26 years in the City-where she gained most of her ‘people agenda’ experience. Wendy was tasked with setting up the recruitment for the new Charter School East Dulwich in 2015 ready for its opening in 2016.
She has been a Chair of Governors in Bromley for 14 years and is now a Trustee of the Pioneer Academy and sits on their Risk and Audit committee.
Wendy is CIPD accredited (level 5) and is particularly interested in Staff Engagement, Efficient Induction as well as Talent and Succession Planning.
Glyn Griffith - Chief Financial Officer
Glyn has worked in finance in the education sector for over 17 years, working initially as a consultant in multiple local authorities then joining The Charter School North Dulwich (TCSND) in 2006 and becoming the Business Manager in 2008.
He was a key part of the team that worked on the conversion of TCSND to academy status in 2010 and was part of the project team to set up of The Charter School East Dulwich in 2015/16. Glyn has also successfully line managed the Estates Team, the ICT team and been key in the lettings proposition for the schools.
He was made CFO for the Trust in 2018 and has overseen the development of the central finance service offering for both of the schools along with other key strategic projects.
Shalene Varcoe - Head of Trust Governance and Communication
Shalene provides governance services for the Trust working with the Board of Trustees and local governors, providing advice on statutory guidance and regulation, compliance, constitutional and procedural matters. She is also the Company Secretary and the Data Protection Officer for the Trust. Shalene also leads on corporate communications for the Trust, including acting as the brand gatekeeper and strategic content manager for the Trust's main communication platforms including its three websites.
She joined the Trust seven years ago as part of the support team at The Charter School North Dulwich, initially as the SEN Administrator followed by roles including the Headteachers's PA and the Head of Careers and External Affairs.
Before this she had a long and successful career in media and project management for clients including ITV, Tesco, UK Trade & Investment, Tottenham Hotspur FC and The Royal Society.
